Any high school girl in the Columbus area and surrounding communities are invited to attend links of london charms they provide their student identification. A couple of the earliest attendees of the event this year were friends Annie Nyffeler and Hadlie Overhue, juniors at CHS. Links of London Duck Charm both have jobs, but said the Extravaganza was a way for them to save what they would have spent at a store, so that is why they came. "I really wanted to find a formal dress, and I Links of London E Charm want to spend a lot of money on that," Nyffeler said. Purchasing formal dresses from department stores can put a dent in any high school students' family's budget. And that is true for Links of London F Charm Samek, of Shelby, who attended with her daughter, Kailey, a junior. Samek said she is a single mom with another son at home, and money is tight. The Extravaganza was a way for them to save a bit while also allowing her daughter to attend prom in April. Another person who came from Shelby was Mary Paddock and her daughter Elizabeth. The two came with Paddock's niece and three other high school friends. Paddock had the job of guarding dresses the girls wanted to try on and also making suggestions as to which dress looked the best. She said she didn't really know what to expect from the Extravaganza because this was her first time attending. She said the number of people who came and the amount of dresses donated surprised her. Lorie Martensen, of Columbus, said she came with her daughter, Sarah, because "I like the idea that you could get a dress easier and cheaper."
