Despite holding the lead at the half, Bettis felt the offense sputtered a bit in the first half. "Discount Omega did a great job last time of kind of bottling up the inside," Bettis said. "So, we couldn't do what we normally try to do. We fought through it and built that 13-point lead at the half." I was a little disappointed we didn't get her but I thought overall, we did a great job. I'm really proud of the way we played defense." The Lady Cougars took complete control early in the fourth with a 10-0 run -- eight of those points coming from King. "They started playing more of a man instead of a zone," King said. "That really helped. I was able to cut and get open more." Even though West Central ended up winning by 22, it wasn't easy. The Lady Cougars had to dig deep into the playbook and stray a little out of their comfort zone.
